Backsplashes used to be purely functional, but are now key design elements in homes. For 2019 we’re seeing higher-end kitchens opt for tall backsplashes to really make a statement with tile and stone. We take you through a few looks to consider if you want to add a touch of glamour to your kitchen this year.

Let the light shine.
The right lighting with a full slab of stone, can make your tall backsplash feel like a work of art. We love the rich tones in this kitchen not to mention the elegant island.
Ceiling high tile.
When your backsplash extends all the way to the ceiling you can get creative and have it frame your hood, your windows and cabinets providing a look that really ties the kitchen together.
Shelf height.
If a ceiling-high backsplash is too much consider for your taste, consider taking the tile to the bottom of your cabinets or open-shelving. This height works especially well when using a bold pattern that may overwhelm the entire wall.
