From the fridge to the faucet black matte features are popping up all over the kitchen, and we’re seeing kitchens with more color overall on the rise. If you’re looking to remodel your kitchen with some dark tones, we suggest a few different tile and countertop looks.
Black, Gold + White.
A black island with matching hood is certainly a statement piece. We love the rich gold accents and expect to continue to see metallics in the kitchen this year. White subway tile and a light quartz countertop temper the drama of the black and gold.
Black cabinets paired with an all black countertop and black matte faucet create a modern, masucline look. To keep things clean and simple using a contrasting white backsplash and don’t be afraid to pick a tile that also has a modern feel. In this case a simple switch from rectangle to square does the trick.
Black + Wood.
While this kitchen makes a bold move to have all black countertops and backsplash, the wood cabinets provide some relief as does the metallic trim which grabs on to light. If you’re creating a dark kitchen, look for ways to bring in contrast to lighten things up.
